The desert day after shoot.... Maurice + Tasha
So I showed you a few photos from this shoot, partly because I couldn't stand the wait for these photos! I had the hardest time deciding which ones to use because they looked so awesome in all of them. Tasha and Maurice let us do whatever we want, and we love it! We drove them out to the middle of no where, it was dirty, dry... they were wearing all white! And it was well worth it my friend! I have to say, I love these photos, I just do! Ok well here they are, take a gander!

And my favorite shot of the day, I can thank the wind for. They were just hanging out here, Tasha was looking her best and all the sudden BAM, dress in the face. I couldn't stop laughing. Maurice replied with "You ruined my very best 'far off stare!'"! haha.. kills me.

The ridiculousness that is Grayson...
So a little background so this post makes sense. Grayson and I went to the movies one night and before we went in we searched at 4 different places to find me a Sugar Daddy to eat, I love them. Apparently no one appreciates the Sugar Daddy anymore because no one had them. So a few days ago Gray came home with a surprise, a bad of mini Sugar Daddy's he found. Needless to say I was overly excited, it doesn't take much! So he decided he's going to give them to me one day at a time, haha He'd hide one everyday and text me a clue to find it! Yesterday I found it, no problem. So he said he was going to make it harder...It's the 2nd day and he hid it in the most ridiculous place ever....
Here is how it started...

So I am thinking and thinking and think.. a light? What light? I look up and it's there!

Only WHERE is that you ask?

That's right...... in the freakin chandelier, 20 feet above me. Don't even ask how he got it up there... he's just taunting me.

Tiny sneek peek of an amazing day after shoot
Gray and I had the pleasure of shooting Tasha and Maurice again and it was A-MA-ZING! You might remember their engagement shoot, still one of my favorites. We love shooting them because we get to whatever we want! Anything I've always wanted to do, I do with them. Anyone who knows me knows I've had a lifetime obsession with balloons, not sure why.. I just do. I've always wanted to do a shoot with balloons so we we did! I kind of wish we'd gotten a million more, but they wouldn't have fit in the car. So we went out to the desert and just did whatever we wanted! And the results were awesome! We went to eat after and got free tootsie rolls with our dinner, haha! So I'm only showing you 2 for now, but more are coming!

Nice words from a groomsman...
"I just wanted to thank you for shooting my best friend Tom's wedding. The photos came out beautiful. He left in the middle of the Laker game to view the photos for 20 minutes. That should speak for itself. Ebony and one of her bridesmaids sat and looked at the photos tonight for over two hours. I tried unsuccessfully to remove them from the room so we could all go out, but my efforts failed miserably. They were in full reminiscing mode. It means a lot to me that they have those photos. Ever since I met Ebony, she's always had a camera nearby and photography is a massive part of her life. To see her genuinely smile at all of the photos and gush about how great they were was a highlight of my night. As they move on to the next chapter in their lives, it will be a blessing to look back and see those moments captured."

Stinko de Mayo [a bit late]...
I know, I know.. Cinco De Mayo was like a month ago, but that's ok! I've been busy! We had a small BBQ with our good friends Roya and Mike, and April- that combo never fails for a good time. Made some carne asada, ate in the back yard and enjoyed.. until an opossum crashed the party.
April and Grayson win... best T-shirts ever

Max came too, although Grayson always thinks his name is Baxter..?

Looks like Max is in trouble

.... Grayon and his desire to be a nature photographer came out

All you can really do at a BBQ is wait for Smores

And for the entertainment of the night... boys being boys. They all tried, only Mike was able to break it. All Grayson got out of it was a sore wrist.. still sore today, told you so.

Ebony + Tom- Married!
Grayson and I had the pleasure of shooting Ebony and Tom on their wedding day! I have to say, when we pulled up early to Cornerstone Church where they were getting married, we were a bit worried. We looked and looked for spots to shoot but didn't find much to work with. Then we drove behind the church and found a ranch style home with horses, jackpot! It all worked out, and it was a good time! They only hired us to shoot them and a bit of the bridal party and ceremony, so it was a short day! But we had enough time to get some shots of Ebony getting ready and I'm so glad we did!

I just love these next 2 shots, veils and wind are the best.

Roya + Mike [a good ol time]
Well it seems to be the season of marriage. My good friend Roya of Roya Jade Photography (about to become Jean Paul Photography) just got married! We were in each other's wedding at the same location within a month of each other, amazing. I got to be a brides maid!! I was pumped about that! And Mary Frances and her husbnad Scott (awesome people) did a great job of photographing the day. And you just have to give them a high five, I would be terrified to shoot a wedding with 5 wedding photographers AT the wedding! 5 in the bridal party! That's just nuts! Well, here are some photos of her beautiful day, she looked amazing of course!!
Dana and I snapped a few shots when they were photographing the boys :]

This picture taken by Mary Frances just cracks me up, too many wedding photographers to handle!

You can never get enough of Dana and Jeremy [who also shot my wedding]

Dana and I stuck together, buddy sytem

The world just doesn't have enough of these moments... haha

Aww Heather Glasby, no longer a Jagger :[ legally at least ;]

Wedding photographers.. and Jason.. know how to get it done

I love my hubby bubby... :]

This is April and Jason, they met at our wedding (she was one of my brides maids, he was a guest).. I called it! While going through my guest list one day looking for single guys for my roommates, I stumbled upon this glorious idea: Jason and April. It worked! They're amazing together!

I'll have a groom with a side of matching guests

That's Amy Clarke, the awesome makeup artist who did both mine and Roya's wedding makeup, gettin down. And poor Andy after I got too excited and spilled Dana's drink on his back... :/

Dave + Rachael [good times in Ojai, CA]
I met Rachael at South Coast Plaza in the most random way. I was talking with a woman about wedding photography and as I got up to leave I heard a woman running behind me yelling "excuse me!! excuse me!" I thought.."there is no way she's talking to me, but I'll check anyway", oddly enough she was yelling for me. She went on to tell me she overheard me talking and she's looking for a photographer, after a great engagement session, here we are today!
They got married and the San Buena Ventura Mission, it was so pretty. Then we moved to the reception at Rachael's grandpa's old house, he recently passed away. We saw pictures of all the work they'd done, it's amazing. It went from an acre or so of pure rubble to this amazing place which held her dream wedding. I loved it here, it was so homey and nice, huge trees, a tire swing, an old barn.. it was perfect. It was so hard to chose the photos to post of this wedding, there were so many I loved and so many good things going on. We attempted to take some photos near the end, but they were in "good time" mode, it was great- dancing machines! We shot their photos at the amazing Ojai Valley Inn, it was great! And Heather Ham and her girls did an amazing job coordinating the day, it was a long one but it went smoothly! Well, here is it!

Don't stop me now Freddy
soooooooo.. this is pretty much the best things I've ever seen. Being that
1. Queen is one of my top 3 all time favorite bands
2. this is one of my all time favorite Queen songs.
.... enjoy
I wish these people were my clients
And another little diddy for the lovers o Queen....
and more, I can't help myself. This is probably the weirdest viedo I've ever seen.. but still great. no one else could pull off a full body, cow print, spandex suit but Freddy.
And I can't help but post a photo or 2 of Freddy Mercury, he's awesome. Ok, and last night, we were watching the finale for American Idol and Queen come on stage.. For a split second my heart fluttered at the thought of seeing Freddy Mercury on stage until I remembered, he's dead. I think I died a little inside... so sad.
Last summer my sister and I were driving and Queen came on, I sang my little heart out as usual until I realized Jackie didn't know any of the words.. WHAT.... MY sister doesn't know the words to Bohemian Rhapsody??? So I gave her the small task of memorizing a list I made of select Queen hits so we could enjoy a good sing along. She came back a few months later and dominated my ipod. yes.

A-MA-ZING..haha
side note: if anyone finds an awesome Freddy Mercury or Queen shirt, let me know where. I mean a good one, not some common one. OR- a lifesize cardboard cut out of Freddy..
Grayson is jealous of my love for Freddy.... :]

Boz the baby... again
This is Boz Kaylen DaSilva. I have been shooting Boz since before she was born, we haven't gotten to do it nearly enough, but that's how it goes. She is amazingly cute and is just freakin awesome. Until she gave me a fat lip with her binki- no so good Boz.
Boz'z mama, Britani, and I have been good friends since we were 12. I moved to this new street and didn't have any friends till one day she just showed up at my door after playing soccer in front of my house (just taunting me to come outside). Ever since that day we were inseparable, sleeping in the tree house, gorging on candy and ice cream everyday, beating up neighbor kids with rolls of half eaten cookie dough... the usual. I've been shooting Britani since I've owned a camera, I think we were 14. She was used in all of my high school photo projects, my muse of sorts. I've shot pretty much all of her phases of life... ahh the good times.
Then one day she met Joe, got married, had a little baby and the rest is history.

the whole fam

After an attempt gone wrong to reenact a photo we took of her when she was just a wee one where Joey [dad] held her upside down by her feet... didn't go well

I love this photo

Her face in this one cracks me up

bath time with Boz and Spartucus.. the best

convincing them to have family bath time, even better :]

...............................
Now for a trip down memory lane...
Britani, loonngg before she was pregnant living in Long Beach

Birtani pregnant with little Boz

Spartacus when he was just a little back drop eating, sweater wearing pup. how could you resist that face?

Boz at a few months old... matching overalls, still makes me laugh :]

Jessica [the amazing]
I had the pleasure of shooting my good amazing/beautiful friend Jessica's college graduation photos. She just graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in art. Jessica's art is amaaaazzzinnng! She does these portraits of people that just blow me away. She gave Gray and I this print I was in love with as a wedding present, we hung it over out TV so we could see it all the time! So if anyone needs a custom painting, she's the one to talk to.

I think we're famous.....
So Dana and Jeremy have been paying attention to where our wedding images have ended up.. and they are everywhere, it's hilarious.. They even ended up on a blog in Italy! I promise this obsession with our own wedding will end on this blog soon, I just have to vask in it while I can.

The one in Italy, so random

And Grayson's boutineer made it to Wiley Valentine too, woo!
